The one thing I know that you gents never have nor ever will know is the amount of life long friendships, just plain FUN, camaraderie and sincerity of people I have spent most of my life around because we all like NU ball. I mean we're all geezers now, but I go back 40-50 years with this group. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN FIRST AND FOREMOST A MERE SMALL DONATION to me so I never connected game tickets to letting the program upset me to the point of MF'ing the whole idea of what my main interest is, and that's simply donating to the school each year a modest amount (ALL OF YOU KNOW IT IS), and by now sitting at center court I guess when I want to if i can go is a nice plus to an old man.
I have known and have close friends in JAM, Jack, Bill, ANDY, and got a lot more access than the average fan would normally get and all of them were part of the NU family, both in good and rough times.
I love that program, and it hurts when they stink, and I really can't argue if has it's detractors. I even floated Division III. But in the end I believe that NU believes that being a Division I, school does lift it over many others it's size, and although not a leader in much, there is still enough prestige to living under that umbrella. But to sum, it's always been considered a donation to me. Purple/White. just the small things I can afford. Every dollar really goes to a good place at NU. Their construction miscues and everything else can be greatly helped if NYPA although not in the philanthropic business could the school, just considering the amount of money their presence generates for them. The Niagara generating stations supply one quarter of all power used in New York State and Ontario.
GO PURPS.....IN THE END IT'S A DONATION, AND A SMALL ONE.
SUPE, YOUR POSTS ARE CLASSICS.
