Absolutely, Joe. This period in NU basketball history feels so much different than others during NU's history. It's like your in an endless tunnel of obscurity. Niagara has always had its share of losing seasons and droughts, but I have never felt so awful about the state of Purple Eagle basketball as I do today. I guess the difference is that I don't see any way out of it given the atmosphere and conditions of the present situation. It just seems like an endless conveyor system of nothingness. I do not believe any ordinary coach and staff can win under the current scheme of things. It would take a big name coach who could attract very good players to enroll and transfer to Niagara and that ain't happening for obvious reasons. either Paulus is going to get very lucky in the portal and give us a good season here and there, or he is just gonna eventually fade away to another position somewhere else as an assistant coach with the help of Coach K. I don't see a happy ending to Niagara basketball. I see it either dropping to D-2 or D-3, or eventually, ending the sport for good.

Naw, Niagara will never drop down to D-2, it'll just keep losing in D-1.
