Let’s join the weakest conference in the nation. Play all of our OOC games against those programs you alluded to and win our league and go to the NCAA tournament. Those OOC games will toughen us up to beat the other cupcakes in our league to allow us to go to the Big Dance.

Sounds peachy, but the university would take every single cent and assign it to somelplace other then athletics. However to purely use the losses as a fundraiser is novel, but would you want to recruit a team by telling them they are going to lose 30 games and not a dime will come back either to the team or athletics in general?
