Um, RU familiar w/ Julian Jaynes' theory on the origins of consciousness? Sleepwalking IMHO could be equated w/ what he describes as the bicameral mind. Or the remnants of same. I think driving is more an automatized thing. Sorta like juggling, once one reaches a certain level of competence conscious thought becomes almost unnecessary. But, it's very much required during the learning phase.

And no, didn't kno that! ;-) What makes you so blue UR actually red?
