i have been to Dachau. if you have been there, or any other concentration camp, and known what had happened at these places... THAT is truly disturbing. seeing, knowing, and entering the places that who knows how many have been tortured, expermented on, (lord knows what else) and died in and the bodies burned in, that painting would be a picture of happines. it is one thing to hear about or see a place but to be there is different

Luckily, my family was mostly all in America during the Holocaust. A distant relative was still in the "old country" and he was taken to a camp, but my great grandfather bribed someone to get him out. He survived.*smiles* It was a horrible, horrible time. I probably should go to visit one of the camps but I don't want to ever go there. One of my teacher's husband survived the Holocaust, and another teacher's father survived also.
