The Quantum II version 1.2 has its tone ID fixed for just a couple of the 8 Zones. I prefer to set Tone ID on my Quantum XT at 3, 4, and 7. The Tone ID is activated with motion so the deeper targets require a more robust sweep or QUICK sweep over the target. Once the tone ID is activated it feeds you more harmonic information that the target is a desireable one.

IF you accept all zones, your Quantum II will be too busy... I recommend ALL zones but 1 which is LOW iron, usually nails etc. Desireable Iron will generally be more conductive.
