The dim, pre-dawn light casts eerie shadows of the Ankla forest onto the vast, grey expanse of dew laden grass. A small fire, crackling upon the edge of the meadow is extinguished with the coming dawn, carefully drenched and scuffed until even the tiniest of embers are dead and black. The traveller returns to the road just as the first rays of sun pierce desperately through the relatively thick cloud cover, feathered hooves stepping lightly upon the damp dirt road. She raises her hood and moves into a moderate, ground covering trot, a gait she could sustain for long periods; rain was sure to come, probably by afternoon and she still had a good distance to An'kor....
