The Northern Road

The road heads due North from An'kor, traveling for some distance through stark meadows devoid of trees and habitation. Soon enough, however, the meadows give way to dense forest. The road turns sharply east soon after entering the forest, and fades from view. You are left with a choice: do you continue on into Ankla Forest, or do you take the road back to An'kor City?

Ral enters the northern road, seeing two figures in the distance. He lets out a slight snicker as we walks slowly on,his yew wood staff supporting him. It is engraved with runes of old, unreadable to all except him. His silver hair hangs down infront of his light blue eyes as he gazes at the horizon. "A nice place to work my magic" he thinks to himself. He sees the two figures across the plains enter the forest and he lowers his head. Standing at 5'9" he is a bit short but it doesnt matter to him. He trudges on, the only thing in his mind is the forest.

She continues to travel along the road, her strides keeping a swift, even pace. Glancing up at the sullen sky above, she mentally figures the daylight she had left, beginning to search for a place to stay the night. Sighting a small hill rising above and off to the west of the road, she heads for it, soon inspecting a cluster of oak trees at the hill's top. Knife in hand, she cuts armfuls of branches from several pine trees, leaving them underneath the centermost oak. Finished with that, she uses the blade carefully to loosen the earth underneath the tree, lining it with the pine branches. Flint and steel are removed from a pocket sewn into the belt itself, a small fire soon glowing. Traveling food is brought out from the pouch, along with a blanket. A flask of water is unslung from her shoulder, and she eats silently. Her knife is resharpened, then she leaves the fire to burn itself out. Wrapping herself in her cloak and blanket, she falls asleep on the makeshift bed.

The Elven women stops to the side of the road, leading her snow coloured mare to a tree. We shall stop her the night. Those were the first words se had spoken since her father left. She wondered now where he could be. He was to be such a mighty king. But in him absents their kingdom fell into ruins.

The rains continued to beat down upon the dirt, �re'an's only shelter was the tree. The wind was bitter and it bit into her elven skin, but it did not bother her, for elves have great tolerence for such weather. She looked to her mare with pitty. The first time she felt sorry for anything since her father left.

Once morning came, �re'an and the mare, Gwina would move on.

He stops by the side of the road, shivering somewhat from the chilly night air, "well ol' ginger guess this is where we shall spend tonight." He quickly unsadles his mare feeding her from a ration of oats he had kept with him for cold nights such as this. Once she was settled in he made a small fire and prepared a small dinner. With his belly full and his eyes heavy with sleep he props himself up on the saddle covering himself with the saddle blankent before falling into a peaceful sleep.

.... Awaking the next morning he fixes a quick breakfast saddles ginger and continues onward.

Her footsteps still slapping softly at a brisk pace, the young elf was not even out of breath; instead, she seemed to be so eager to reach An'Kor her pace had increased. Hand grasped around wooden staff, pale blond hair pulled back and twisted with a twine, and the angular face flecked with beads of sweat, she strode onwards with a purposeful stride.

The dim, pre-dawn light casts eerie shadows of the Ankla forest onto the vast, grey expanse of dew laden grass. A small fire, crackling upon the edge of the meadow is extinguished with the coming dawn, carefully drenched and scuffed until even the tiniest of embers are dead and black. The traveller returns to the road just as the first rays of sun pierce desperately through the relatively thick cloud cover, feathered hooves stepping lightly upon the damp dirt road. She raises her hood and moves into a moderate, ground covering trot, a gait she could sustain for long periods; rain was sure to come, probably by afternoon and she still had a good distance to An'kor....

Though the sun was cruel in its fierce afternoon glare, the elven lady showed no signs of being effected by it. A welcome breeze stirred her long, silvered tresses, and her verdent orbs remained fixed on the path ahead, which would eventually lead her to An'kor City and beyond. ��

Dark bay centauress enters, human skin ivory, hair matching that of her tail and limbs, midnight ebony. Emerald eyes gaze warily around as she journeys to Kan'Daar. Knowing she would not make it until morning, she sighs, eager to find a home. Limbs strike up intricate waltz across terrain, long raven hair flowing behind her in the breeze created by her canter. Stopping under the shelter of a large oak tree she removes the bow, quiver, and pack from her shoulders, happy to remove the weight from her back. Slender fingers stroke the ruby choker on her neck above her emerald top. Satisfied with her surroundings, she lies down and picks up her dropped pack, retrieving an apple good for eating. She takes notice of nothing as she eats, grateful to have a nice rest after her journey to this land.

Lunatha reins in her horse, allowing him to prance out any energy left from the run. Her hand rests on the hilt of her well used blade, obviously experienced though her age appears so young. She unsheathes her blade warily and heads towards the Ankla forest. There appeared to be no other way to go except there.
