She looked up, surprised to hear him, and made a brave attempt at smiling through her tears. "Dalamar...I didn't think anyone had followed me," she said, voice sounding hollow and almost breaking as she tried to stop crying. She rose to her feet, not sure whether she wanted him here or to be left alone..."I'm really sorry, I must seem ridiculous," said the distraught elf. Again she tried a smile, and again it fell far short of its mark, mainly due to the fact that she had not yet ceased weeping. Tears continued to roll steadily down her pale cheeks, and, embarassed, she turned pain-filled eyes upward and wiped them for a second time. She leaned against the tree, and when she still couldn't help from crying covered her face with hands that shook. "I'm really sorry," she repeated as visions of her last moment with her family flitted unbidden through her mind...the looks of terror on their faces as they fled Qualinesti...'stop it!' she felt like shouting as she wept even harder. 'Just leave me be...'
