Ketch's reply was appropriate. I considered posting a similar reply before I saw that he had already posted his.

Considerations of respectfulness/disrepect have no place in proper translation of texts, religious texts included. If a text has been written in a disrespectful manner, the translated version should be same as disrespectful. Such texts should be translated as exactly as possible and without unnecessary embellishment in phrasing, the latter being more appropriate in literary works or that of a highly fictitious quality.
