It seems that at times you get caught up in your own mental gymnastics ... beginning to chase your own tail, in other words.
But, what if it is not just a belief? Fairly presumptuous, do you not think, to presume it is merely a belief? Consider that perhaps it does not matter how many masters say this or that or even its opposite. What does all that matter if you have experienced its truth yourself? Perhaps you have lived in a desert and so believe that the concept of a tree just cannot be. And then along comes one who has lived among trees ... Of course, you ridicule him ... He must be nuts ... or at least hullucinating from the harsh conditions of the desert ... or perhaps he has really seen a tree ... or many. You will never know, of course, unless you follow his directions to find the tree ... and, of course, you will still not know if you do not complete the journey. Many people hold beliefs in this world. A few know the truth. It seems to me that a man or woman is blessed to find such a one. Find a tree ... and just sit there.
