Yuia, the girl, I met after getting banished to the Path of the Heretics. I got banished for kicking a monk, right in the nose when he came looking for Kounai. I was down there for about two weeks when she got cast out as well. It was the only social contact that either of us had gotten for a while. Despite what she says about me, I do believe that she cared more for me than she was willing to let on. I wouldn't say that I'm in love with her, nor her with me- but I believe that we share a bond stronger than what siblings who put up with each other would have.

And Kounai.... My best friend, or he was once upon a time.... We were all that either of us really had. Verdandi must be laughing at us, though... to make me an Angel and him an Eyerling. One of us is going to get killed sooner or later. Probably me, because Verdandi clearly favors them.

I knew it was going to happen..... I saw it in my dreams..... Perhaps had I seen more details, I could have avoided it. Refused to be a part of the Circle, perhaps.... Over two thirds of the population got killed because of me. All of the people you saw, gone. Died protecting the people from one of my attacks. Then the planet went. Ialon showed up, took my wings, and recruited me.
