...::Welcome::...
You wander through a beautiful forest, breathing in the astonishingly clear, cool air and savoring the perfect peace. Maple, ash, oak and birch trees make a shady green canopy over your head, and you hear the distant roar of the waterfall you had recently passed. You have never seen such a beautiful place as this. You continue to walk over the fallen leaves and short, sweet, thick spring green grass. The day is warm, but a cool breeze makes you completely comfortable. You pause to sniff at a wild rose, but then prick your ears and raise you head as you hear the crystalline bubbling of a creek. You eagerly step forward and push through a small grove of cedars to see a perfectly clear stream splashing over a pebbly riverbed. You drink the cold, sweet water that reflects the green boughs overhead and then, not knowing what else to do, follow the brook through the trees. It widens as you go, soon changing into a small river. Then the trees suddenly clear and you stand on a small cliff overlooking a beautiful meadow, rich with long, waving grass. Cilla, snowdrops, daffodils and larkspur sparkle at you from the fringes of the field, and to your left the creek plunges over the lip of the cliff--which you now realize is solid amythest! The waterfall does not make much noise as it splashes in a cloud of bubbling foam at the bottom of the cliff, cascading into a deep, clear lake that is blue, reflecting the color of the sky. Eagerly, you follow a winding foot path down the cliff and into the meadow. As you stand there, breathing in the sweet smells and listening to a mourning dove call, you hear hoofbeats and raise your head to see a magnificant stallion racing towards you. He is an incredibly glossy-coated bright white unicorn with a flowing, shiny, snow-silver mane and tail. His long forelock trails over his handsome face, which is so finely chisled that you can make out a few delicate bones and veins under his smooth hide. His chest, quarters and shoulders are thickly muscled and his eyes are large, dark and warm. He slides to a stop, balancing perfectly on his iron-hard, sinewy legs that end in gleaming silver hooves. His horn is sparkling silver. He nods welcomingly to you, his deep black eyes sparkling. "Welcome," he greets you, "to Silvery Dew Acres. I am Misty Moonlightning's Midwinter Myth, although you may call me Myth. This is my territory, and I hope sincerely that you will join me here. A bit of useful information," he continues with a nod to the vast green expanse of the meadow, "is this: if you get up early, exactly at dawn, when the sun's first golden rays touch the mountaintops--there will be dew on the grass. But not just any dew--magical dew. Drink it, and any wound or illness you have will be instantly cured." He winks and then canters away, leaving you to decide whether to stay or not. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
