That's very strange. Something is wrong here. What is the truth? Why would an institution which does not sponsor someone, GALA, allow them to use their name, Community of Christ, on their letters and materials? What is the definition of "sponsor"?

Is GALA affiliated with Community of Christ?

Most of our membership have some sort of connection to the Community of Christ, however, GALA is not sponsored by the Community of Christ.

Step by Step

GALA has received permission to use the name of the church, Community of Christ, on their letters and materials from this point forward; a significant step in their faith journey. As many of you know, when GALA was beginning in the late 1980’s, use of the church name was strictly prohibited.

Listening Circles Introduced to the Congregation

On Sunday, May 16th, Pastor Andrea Henson, co-facilitated by Pat McKay, introduced the concept of Listening Circles to the congregation.
The World Church has requested that we form these circles in our congregation (6-10 people each) for the purpose of listening to each other in a safe, non threatening environment. Listening Circles are a tool that can be used to discuss any difficult issue. The World Church has requested that the issue of homosexuality in the Community of Christ be our first focus.
