Lois, I never had a problem with the church, not considering that the church is the people. My problem was with the leadership. No believer can follow a leader who doesn't believe. I realize that the movie "Mr. Moses," with Robert Mitchum in it was a clever script, but in real life, things like that don't work.
I think I said this before, but it is far easier to believe that the Book of Mormon is literally true, than it is to believe that any priesthood member has any authority should it not be true. It is a "cool" book for anyone to read, whether they believe it is true or not, but those who do not believe it is true, cannot possibly believe that the Restored Church has any claim to the priesthood.
