Lip quivering, Adam holds back tears of his own.
No, Adam, it wasn't enough for you to let Sarah go, now you just ruined your chance of meeting someone else. Good job.
Tears breaking free of his restraint and streaming down his face, Adam starts to get up and chase after Storm, but falters for a moment.
Look, they're giving you a last chance to run away, to let all of this go! None the wiser than those who quit while they're already ahead! Don't let yourself be hurt again, Adam!
He growls painfully, fighting the poking and prodding voice in his head. "I will not let her get away!" he yells, jumping up to his feet and rumbling over to Storm, not even noticing the people dodging out of his way. Adam catches her arm in a tight grip, pausing to let a sob escape before continuing. "Storm...Didn't mean to make you take that the wrong way...I take it," he lets another bawl slip from his mouth, "Take it we've both had bad experiences with trust? I...I'm sorry for what I said. Er...I'd still like to get to know you, if...If you like."
