(Narrative:)
For the next few hours, Maverick Hunters loaded aboard the two space shuttles that would take them up to the moon base. They were both very large vessles, holding half of the task force in each. They were also loaded down with weapons, and supplies. Due to the covert nature of the mission, the Federal Government had also launched simultaneous space missions in near by facilites. This was to create the appearance of a massive space mission to the general public. The other shuttles would also serve as decoys. It could be said that this part of their mission made them the most vulnerable. A direct hit on either of the shuttles would cripple the mission. A direct hit on both would cripple the entire Hunter Organization. Of course, the launch went off without any incident, making the Hunters feel that much more secure about their tactics, and secrecy.
Signas was wise to leave some behind to gaurd the base. His intelligence network had come across some very interesting information. There were 3 potential hot spots for conflict. One is Dr. Doppler's Island base. The Second was Dr. Wily's Moon base. The third was Maverick Hunter Headquarters.
Signas had learned that offensive strike teams were being launched from both the moon, and Doppler's Island. That meant that at each location, all three parties would be engaged in conflict. Wily would be attacking both Dr. Doppler's Island, and Maverick Hunter HQ. Dr. Doppler would be attacking Dr. Wily, and Maverick Hunter HQ. And in response to this threat, the Maverick Hunters would be attacking Dr. Doppler's, and Dr. Wily's locations respectively. An interesting situation indeed. Signas had termed this kind of warfar a "three way trap." It was a very complicated campaign. You could win the battle on the home front, but lose out in the field, or vice versa. And any loss could spell a major setback for either organization. Possibly even extermination! The Hunters were faced with only one option. They had to win on ALL 3 fronts. But, was such an accomplishment possible? Signas only answer to that question rung hollow in his ears. "Only time will tell." (to be continued)
