There were six Titan class nuclear submarines sent to deal with the threat on Doppler's Island. Each of them carried fifty passengers,a small array of medical staff, and technicians, plus five regular crew members. All in all, and impressive display. Launched from the torpedo tubes, and disguised as a massive projectile strike, Mega Man X and the 17th unit rode the waves into Doppler's island. X had ordered a second groupd to remain behind. They broke off, and circled the island, heading for the main conflict. Out of the three hundred sent, only thirty were going to make land fall with X, and IO. X was planning on surprise. The first team on shore would secure a landing point for the remainder of the Hunter invasion force. Meanwhile, a small presence would enter the battle from the flash point. By the time Doppler's surveillance picked up the threat, X and his invasion force should have already been safely ashore. It would have taken them little time to fortify themselves.
Some of the task force, and crew would remain behind to engage Doppler's naval force; attack submarines, which were built by Wave Tortise.
Thus far, Castendo was engaged in an arial conflagration. He was making very little progress trying to get his squadrons of shock troops to occupy the ground areas. Doppler had the help of Anti-air missle batteries, and the air ships built by Wind Raven. Doppler's best and brightest Reploids pilots would be flying them. The nature of the conflict was why Signas had chosen the naval option. They could take advantage of the confusion to overwhelm the opposition. The Hunters sent to the flash point would have the task of neutrallizing Castendo's forces. They had an odd attack pattern. At first, they would split up, and half would make land fall. In this, they would be taking out some of the same weapons that would be used to destroy Casteno's forces. Yet, once on the terra, they would set up anti-air craft weapons arrays, and try and shoot down everything that moved. Stealth was preferred, because the Hunters knew that every gun that wasn't shooting at them, was a welcome one!
The other half would launch a missle attack from their water craft, in an effort to draw fire away from the ground team.
Mega Man X led his famed 17th unit in a sweep pattern around the edge of the coast line, looking for the best spot to land. He remained a good distance away from the shore until he had confirmation of the second strike team's arrival on the far side of the island. (to be continued)
