(Okay, I guess I'll just get things moving again. By the way, thanks to all our readers for your support!)
Mega Man X had his mission. Head to the main control room, and seize control of the operation. He had spread his team of Hunters out around the island. The occupational force altogether consisted of about 300, but only a tenth of that was involved in the infiltration. The rest of them were trying to fight between Castendo, the pirate working for Dr. Wily, and Dr. Doppler's private army.
Back at the Hunter base the communication terminals were going crazy with streams of information pouring in. As always, it was too much for any human or Reploids to take in all at once, but Signas managed to decipher it all. So far, no forces had attacked the base yet, but Signas remained alert.
X made his way through Doppler's fortress. He had cut his team down to four, but then told the other two Reploids to split off, and join the others. Now it was just down to himself, and IO. The two made their way with stealth through the lower levels of the facility.
Dr. Doppler, meanwhile was enjoying the show. In his private control room, he could see everything that was going on outside. The four rooms that surrounded his quarters were filled with monitors, and sound. An army of Reploid technicians manned the stations at the four monster info terminals which reached from floor to ceiling, and had multiple levels. Vile sat silently in the same room as Doppler, watching the events unfold on the moon, and outside. "When do we attack the Hunter Base?"
"Not yet. One of the most important factors in setting a trap is patience. You have to know when they are the nmost vulnerable. We wait until the time is right!", Doppler told him. Doppler was laughing now. Thousands of tiny fiber optic cameras had been fitted to every inch of this place, there was nothing he could not see.
All of those sent information back to a processor which then translated the images into a 3D holographic projection which played what it saw in real time. Doppler could see how X and his allies positioned themselves.
"Vile, I think it is time we show them what Razor Mantis' creations can do." Vile got up, and looked at Doppler. "What do you want me to do?"
"Kill them. But leave a few as hostages. I want a worm to dangle on the hook. Oh and make sure you bring Mega Man X to me. I want to deal with him personally."
"As you wish." Vile said, and then left.
