The elevarot doors opened, and Sonic Blade stepped out, followed by Zero. The halls were a lighter color up here. This time, they were light blue, and had marking all over them. Signs, and writing clearly marked the way to the different directions, and places that this passage led to. To the right was the shuttle bay. As they stepped out of the elevator, they made footprints from the "blood" of the dead reploid. It would have made Zero sick, if he were human. "The shuttle bay is this way, hurry!", Sonic blade said. As the two ran down the long corridor, they did not expect what was about to happen next. Sonic Blade's leg had passed through a light sensor beam, and tripped the bomb. An explosionrocked the hallway, and knocked them both on their back in an instant. Smoke clouded their vision. Debris from the hallway blocked the entrance to the hangar.
"Zero! Are you alright?", Sonic Blade asked. "I'm okay, just a bit shook up by the blast. How 'bout you?", Zero replied. "My head is ringing, but that will pass. My auto repair system is kicking in already."
The two got up. And staggered out of the wreckage. Zero asked, "Is there any other way into that shuttle bay?"
"Yes, this way, follow me!" Sonic Blade followed the map provided by his team. The hallway lead to a huge, dark chamber, which was over stocked with clear, glass cylinders.
Inside each of them was...a body! In fact, it was a Reploid's body, and not that of a human. Zero tried to see, but could not make out what the face in each tube looked like. But he was reminded of a sickly memory. Metal stairs led them up to a cat walk over the entire chamber. Dr. Wily had called this the "assembly room," but niether of them knew it at the time. (Besides, he was a little bit occupied right now by a block of ice!) The catwalk was a fragile construction, consisting of criss-crossed metal grates. It led to a circular platform in the middle of the chamber.
"What is this place?", Sonic blade asked.
"I have seen this before too! It is exactly like the room in Doppler's old fortress. Could Sigma be here?"
"Sigma!? wasn't he destroyed witht he Ultimate weapon?"
"He was destroyed a few times before that too!", Zero told him. "Anyway, let's press on. It would not be wise to stay here very long!"
The two continued on the the platform in the center. A strange light glowed from the floor of the platform. The two arrived in the central platform area. "Zero, this is a teleporter!", Sonic Blade told him. "Where do you think it leads?"
"To trouble! I'm sure of it.", Zero replied.
"So, who goes first?",Sonic Blade asked him.
"I will!" (to be continued.)
