I totally agree that GA might feel more pressure going into it, and she might be judged a little more harshly. Such is life as a woman ;-) Not to mention that fact that DD is always heralded as being so intellectual and educated, she probably feels even added pressure. What with him having a masters degree and a Ph.D ABD in English and everything. That has to make her nervous to write an episode because people will no doubt compare it to his. But the bottom line is that she knows Scully better than anyone so I'm sure if anything the characterization will be right on.

As for the directing, I'm not worried about her at all. Sure there aren't as many women directors out there but when you think about it most positions like that are male dominated, as is Hollywood in general. For some reason I keep thinking of ER. I don't know how many of you watch that but the episode a few weeks ago was directed by the actor who plays Carrie Weaver, Laura Innes. She did beautifully, it was one of the best directed eps of ER I've seen in a long time. Anyone who watches and saw that closing scene with Dr. Carter will agree with me. I'm sure Gillian will do just as well.

SMH, who is more worried about William B. Davis's episode
