according to the paper and television reports, this thing can grow to be 3 feet long. It can live up to 4 days out of water and can move from one pond/lake to another one. Full grown snakehead fish can eat anything smaller than they are, including small mammals (keep your little doggies away from the water!) They can bite large fish in half. There have been pictures on television, newspapers and the net and I can honestly tell you that this is the ugliest fish I have ever seen--even worse than an eelpout! (And coming from Minnesota, I have seen and caught a lot of fish!) It's found in 7 states so far--not in Minnesota yet but let's hope it never gets here. There are so many lakes, sloughs, swamps, ponds, rivers and streams that we could never get rid of them! Apparently they have been introduced as a food fish--an oriental soup uses them. Yuck!
