Subject: What was your favorite "final season" of XF?? (May contains s8/9 spoilers)

At various times, season five, season seven, season eight and season nine were designated as the "final season" of "The X-Files" as a TV show. (Presumably season nine was the "real" final season, but it's kind of like the Boy Who Cried Wolf. . .I wouldn't be at all surprised to see XF popping back up as a midseason replacement sometime next year.)
However, assuming that we've now seen all available "final" seasons of XF. . .which one was your favorite and why??
My favorite "final" season (not my favorite XF season overall) was season seven. It did everything the final season of a long-running, high-quality TV drama should do: resolved the long-standing UST between the male and female leads ("all things"), wrapped up a mystery central to the series ("Closure") and provided a springboard for possible future movies ("Requiem").
