I read ypour whole story. Do I get a prize. ;-) No seriously, it was interesting. I have a techie guy that hooks up all the electronic gadgets. I mentioned to him that I had a friend whose Tivo had broke and his only explanation was that it was probably an older model. He knows I don't have a computer but I told him if I got one I'd want one that worked quickly and he said to get DSL. I'll have to ask him about the problem with that and Tivo!
I think you should mention to your uncle that your Tivo situation is straightend out and you sure miss having it. Maybe he will get the hint. ;-)

Tivo started taping all these programs I didn't want shortly after I got it so how would it know what my tastes were? I just figured that was some weird promotional scam so I got rid of that option. I was worried it would tape all these dumb things and there'd be no room for the stuff I do want! Plus I was tired of having to delete al of it. I like to set things in advance and I get a lot of "recording this program might mean other programs may be deleted earlier than planned or will not record at all" type messages.

I have checked the suggestions list and there's a lot of weird stuff on it. A lot of Spanish programs for me too and also a whole bunch of religious programming. Maybe it think I need sopme spiritual guidance! Frankly I don't think that has anything to do with what it thinks you want to watch. How could it?
Once it did have the Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie as a sugestion and I took them up on it and taped it. I hadn't seen it since it was the theater.

I haven't used the wish list feature yet. Someone on the BNL list said they had it programmed for all BNL programs it but nothing had copme up so far.
