to which I really haven't a clue. I guess I have always thought the show was interesting with only a few episodes that really gave me the shivers. (Tooms mainly) I too, don't know if it matters who was right as they needed each other's view points or discoveries or skills to solve the crimes or puzzles. Whether or not their explanations made sense to the powers that be only made things either funny or frustrating for M & S and the viewers.
