but I still have to wonder why the network agreed to run a 9th season if they thought the show was "dead in the water." It would have been cheaper to pay GA off and call it quits. Now that the season has begun, maybe there is a chance that the new characters can pull off another slowly growing hit again? I guess I, for one, am enjoying it for it's own merits even if I do miss Mulder.

I don't have any real insight into this--just a few questions and enough patience to wait and see what happens.
