I have mixed feelings about S9 so far. Unfortunately I missed last night's episode (forgot to tape it while I went to a concert), so I've only seen three shows this season. The first two were your typical season premiere myth shows. I thought they were both good. They just weren't as good as myth eps usually are. For obvious reasons, the myth has gone in a different direction than the last couple seasons, and I just can't care about it as much as I did before. It's especially disappointing because the final two episodes of S8 were SO emotionally charged.

As far as the MOTW episode I've seen, I really enjoyed that one. It left us with a lot of questions, and the kind of questions that come from mystery, not bad writing. I'm looking forward to seeing more of them, as I'm still kicking myself for forgetting to tape last nights episode!

I think the new characters are really doing a good job. There is no denying that they don't have that certain something that was apparant from day one with Mulder and Scully, but they are definitely holding their own. I've grown especially fond of John Doggett. There is one new character that I don't like at all, but I'm not sure if it's a spoiler or not. I'm sure you know who it is, but I don't want to say just in case, since I understand your spoiler aversion.

Overall, it's a new experience, and I'm enjoying it. It's almost like watching a whole new show.
