Even though he loves the show and the character it is time to move on. He wants to do other things which is good. He gave the impression that he is not desparate to work and ...I mean he is rich enough and he just wants to pick and chose and enjoy a different kind of life. He said , here, that he would do a movie if the TV show had ended. He is the one who wanted out. I just hope that in S9 we know that he is still around and with Scully and baby. Even if she walked in on her first day of work on the X Files and Doggy askes her how is baby and is s/he at creche and Scully could say " S/he is at home with his/her father" I'm sure that would be acceptably subtle for CC and perfectly acceptable for us shippers.
