'X-Files' Creator Sets out on Sci-Fi 'Investigation'

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Chris Carter, the man behind FOX's hit paranormal series "The X-Files," will take his unique skills to directing his first feature film.

The 47-year-old writer-producer-director will helm the big-screen adaptation of Philip Kerr's sci-fi thriller "A Philosophical Investigation," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Investigation" is set in the near future, when the government has discovered how to pinpoint the physiological basis for violent tendencies in individuals. When a computer expert discovers his name is on the list of people with this predisposition, he sets out to kill the rest of those on the list, causing a female detective to track him down.

Carter and his "X-Files" collaborator will adapt and produce. Carter was nominated for numerous Emmys for writing, directing and producing "X-Files" during its nine-year run. He is also in the process of adapting the book "The World of Ted Serios," the true story of an alcoholic doorman who can somehow use his mind to create images on film, for Miramax's Dimension Films.
