... maybe we're going to see a positive one. There have been other agents besides Krycek, who have worked with M & S, who were not in with the syndicate. It may be that this time around (as much for a change as anything) that Doggett will represent the forces of Law and Order in a world where those values have become very stretched or watered down. I can imagine Scully needing to ground herself and maybe Doggett will have a lot of down to earth common sense, with a good solid police discipline. Maybe the only easy-to-attach nickname which *will* apply will be 'dogged'.

I think maybe CC can imagine episodes where, because of Mulder's absence, Doggett has to have a main role (along with Scully, of course - hope no-one's forgetting her!) but the essence and spirit of Mulder will be there for everyone to see. I think we have to trust CC. I don't believe he has ever let the side down and he has as much riding on this new style show as anyone.

Funny thing is, Islandgirl, I really wanted it to stop at the end of S7 - just like you! I think I am just searching for some peace of mind, seeing as that desire wasn't to be.
