Aw Stardoe. Your subject line startled me!

Just to reiterate what IG was saying, I think his main concerns all have to do with time. TXF takes a lot longer to film than most other shows and he just has little free time. Time to do other projects and time for his family. He said in a recent interivew that Madelaine will be walking soon and he didn't want to miss that. If we think he gripes now, imagine how he'd sound if he missed somew big event in his daughter's life while he was playing Fox Mulder. We'd never hear the end of it!

I am encouraged by what he said recently. I posted the quote on the Season 8 board. He talks about the show as if he still has a vested interest in it and it's not some bad blister he wishes would go away. I think he still cares about the characters. But he also feels that the show has become stagnant and really has no place to go unless some different directions are taken. As he's said, 'it's all about money.' and he's not talking about his money, but Fox/1013 who won't let the show go.

At least maybe with DD making a stink things might be more interesting in Season 8. I'll miss Mulder too. But I try to look at at optimistically. There was a time when Season 5 would be the last. And then it seemed pretty definate that Season 7 would be. So look what we have now. A whole extra Season of Scully as well as a few with Mulder. Not the best of circumstances but better than the alternative. Unles the show is terrible! ;-)

I think DD could still do movies and I don't think Mulder will be forgotten. CC said as much in a recent interview that Mulder and Scully were the core of everything. And I took a peek at a spoiler/set report someeone did (it's not really a spoiler so I'm mentioning it freely here) and even the new guy (Patrick) said he new that Mulder and Scully were the heart of the show. I think their presence will still be there but just in an altered state.

Cheer up Stardoe! :-) I think it will be ok.
