I was prepared for Season Seven to be the last season of TXF. To me the show seemed to have run its course and a fond farewell was in order. Seven years is a wonderful run for a television show, and I wanted it to end before it got pathetic.

Then came Requiem. I loved this episode more than any I've seen in a long time. It revived my interest in TXF and left me wanting more. November 5th can't come too soon for me.

Sure, I'm disappointed we won't see as much Duchovny. The show was built on him. He built a character that we all love. But to be honest, I think a season 8 with a Duchovny who doesn't want to be there is much worse than a season with only half of Duchovny who is rested and ready to work.

I also like the storyline for Season 8. It will give Scully more passion and focus, it will give the supporting characters a chance to shine, and it will inject new life into the season.

I'm also really looking forward to the chemistry between Scully and Doggett that Gillian spoke of in the EW article. I think those who got upset over that misinterpreted it. I think the way they interact will be interesting and it'll be nice to see the way Scully relates to someone other than Mulder, including Skinner and Krycek and anyone else they want to throw at her.

One month, nine days to go!
