Subject: TV eps versus movies

I'm just wondering if somebody can explain to me way it takes so *MUCH* longer to film a movie than an episode of a TV show?? I mean, I understand why it would take somewhat longer, because the average length of a movie is two hours, while the average length of an hour-long TV show (allowing for commercials) is only about 45 minutes. Also, movies tend to have more special effects and stuff.
But still. . .the cast and crew of "The X-Files" is able to film 22 eps of the show (the equivalent of at least eight movies) in an eight-month shooting season. Yet it took that same cast and crew four or five months to film "The X-Files Movie: Fight the Future".
This isn't a situation unique to "XF". All hour-long dramas shoot 22 eps in an eight- or nine-month season and all feature films seem to take four or five months to shoot a two-hour movie.
