Subject: Because....

Because everything has to be perfect. I'm sure you followed the publicity behind FTF and interviews and such...It's more relaxed doing a movie, people don't hustle around so much. The actors have more time to learn lines and more time to perfect their character.

Actually FTF took a lot of time during post-production...because of so many FX. The bomb, the spaceship and a lot of other shots were in the computer and tweaked, again, to perfection.

Movie audiences are larger than TV audiences....and they have to pay money. The experience of going to the theatre sitting in the dark (most people are sun-shiny people, the dark doesn't appeal to them) ;)....unlike a lot of us here :) So these factors have to get people off their a** to go see the movie anyway, which might be ruined by an obnoxious drunk who laughs too loud/throws up down your back/who needs medical attention

It would be great if an ego like Tom Cruise could know what kind of grueling schedule DD&GA have to go through. It would be great if his paycheck was cut in half (or less), and he had to learn all of his lines in a short period/loose sleep to do so :) Maybe, there wouldn't be so many movie stars, and the roles would be left to real men :) Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Bill Murray, and I really hope David Duchovny gets all the great movie roles he deserves :)
