Well I have returned. I have read some of the comments from the shows I missed by duck, cvl, islandgirl and detoured. I couldn't reply as I had no time before, not being on my own computer, so I have decided to just put all those shows here in several posts and say what I thought of them.

En Ami
This is the best show for ages. On a par with Closure I thought. It was a real X File mystery. Kept me wondering all the way through and I am still wondering. This is what XF is supposed to and used to do every ep. I do think it was more simple than many thought though. I think the guy with the tape was on the level and really wanted to expose the info to Scully. Somehow CGB found this out and decided 1) he wanted the tape or 2)the world just wasn't ready for this kind of info. I think 2) because he threw the tape away. I don't think it was all just a ruse to lure Scully into his clutches. I don't think he did anything to her. I don't even think he undressed her because her wire was still there. She probably just doesn't remember getting changed as she was "delirious" with tiredness as CGB so plainly put it. He certainly did go to great lengths to persuade her with his phony office etc. I am a bit suspicious that he seemed to know he had to leave the restaurant so that the tape man could contact Scully. Maybe the tape man was working for CGB but I doubt it. I think CGB got the thug to kill the tape man for obvious reasons like covering his tracks. The same reason he tried to kill Scully as well. But of course CGB had every intention of saving Scully. And we all know why he did that. Sure he night have a bit of affection for her but his real reason for saving her has to do with the legacy he wanted to leave. It wasn't the info on the tape that he wanted to leave to save the world.

His legacy is his offspring....Mulder and any children that Mulder might have. In order for Mulder to have any offspring the best bet at the moment is Scully to have them for him. I think CGB saw that by allowing Scully to have contact with the tape man she could be in danger so he manipulated the situation to suit himself. He could have used the tape to save himself but as he said he is a lonely man and I guess doesn't want to live. So he threw the tape away so that Scully could live and perhaps discover that same info later on. Maybe CGB valued his legacy[progeny] more than his own life.

And of course CGB swapped the tape for the blank one on the warf. Scully wasn't taking any notice at all. Anyway that is what my poor brain made of this ep.
As for M and S. She did everything she could to tell Mulder where she was. She knew he would find out that it wasn't a family emergency eventually. She gave him the "I'm fine" message. The poor guy.He looked so thrilled when she called Skinner and then so bemused when she hung up and didn't want to talk to him. And he was sooooooopissed off at her even before the tape drew a blank. She just wanted him to look at her and she was feeling so ashamed of herself. She just felt so bad that he was furious with her. Like he couldn't trust her any more and she was trying to convey how sorry she was. She had a real "Please don't hate me " look about her. Great!
