Duchovny's still at Yale. He is experiencing writer's block trying to write his thesis. He wakes up on his couch after an amazingly life-like dream about an FBI agent and his platonic female partner and their strange spooky advertures into the paranormal.
He writes his thesis, "Magic and Technology in Comtemporary Poetry an Prose". It becomes an award winner and rewards him with a trip to Hollywood. He meets Chris Carter who has read said thesis, and they work out a tv pilot based upon
the thesis. The award winning tv program The XFiles is created, starring DD.
