Subject: "Blessing Way" and "Paper Clip"

These are probably my two favorite "mytharc" eps in the whole series. I really enjoyed both of them, especially when Mulder appears to Scully in a dream and the look of pure joy on her face when he shows up alive. Good Skinner stuff, too!
A couple of things are confusing in these eps, though:
Throughout these eps there are two men named Mulder (Fox and his father) and two women named Scully (Dana and her sister; well, her Mom's actually in it a bit, too, but mostly it's Dana and Missy) yet the Consortium speaks of "Mulder" and "Scully" as if the other members will immediately know they mean the Mulder and Scully who are FBI agents.
Why is Mulder's Mom so reluctant to help him find the answers he so obviously needs? She's old. Her daughter is dead. Her ex-husband is dead. What could *possibly* me more important to her than helping her only surviving child deal with his demons?
I like the contrast between the two Moms. Scully's mother is *SO* much more caring and concerned than Mulder's mother. My hubby and I were joking that it's the difference between a Catholic mom and a WASP mom!
