Subject: Remington/Laura and Mulder/Scully

I've been watching a lot of "Remington Steele" on DVD lately (got the second season for Christmas and recently picked up the third season on sale). RS is my second all-time fave show after XF, but the more I watch the more I realize how alike the two couples are.
In both shows the man is the one who takes the "intuitive" or "gut feeling" approach to solving cases, while the woman is the one who wants a logical explanation for everything. Both Remington and Mulder have a somewhat "mysterious" past, while both Laura and Scully have relatively straight forward backgrounds.
While the shipper factor is *much* higher on RS than XF (since Remington's repeated attempted to get Laura into bed is the underlying theme of the whole series on RS and even a diehard shipper like me will admit it wasn't the *main* theme of XF) there are even similarities in the way it's played out. In both cases, the man is usually the one making the sexual innuendos or suggestions. However, on the rare occasions when the woman seems to be suggesting something of a sexual nature (as Scully did in "Detour" and as Laura does in a couple of season three eps of RS) the man suddenly seems uninterested or oblivious.
