Given the way special effects continue to evolve, the sci-fi/horror aspects of XF will probably look cheesy 20 years from now, just as sci-fi stuff from the 60s looks silly to us now. But those lingering, soulful gazes Mulder and Scully exchanges are as timeless as the ones Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman exchanged in "Casablanca" (which doesn't seem "dated" even 60 years after it was produced.)
