You're right that M&S seemed more relaxed and to be having more "fun" with each other in the movie than they typically did in the TV show. . .probably the way longtime partners/friends (regardless of whether or not there was any UST or romantic attraction between them) *would* normally act with each other. I think they were "lightened up" a bit so that the movie would appeal to the typical summer movie crowd, not just diehard philes like us.
That brings up the question: when (if??) the second XF movie comes out, will it be the "TV M&S" or the "movie M&S" we'll be seeing?
