"What was all the screaming about in here?" she demands, draping the cat over one shoulder and stroking it. The cat purrs and then Det and IG notice its ears perk up. The cat gathers itself and vaults out of KS's arms. Det and IG gasp and look around frantically.

KS looks at them with her hands on her hips. "What in tarnation has gotten into the two of you? And where's JD and Melissa?"

"Melissa was just outside in the petunias," Det tells her while crouched on the floor, looking under the furniture.

"And JD was just here a minute ago," IG informs her, removing pillows from the couch.

"Did you two lose something?" KS asks suspiciously.

"Us? Er...no! Of course not!" Det moves to straighten up and conks her head on the coffee table. "Ow."

IG gives KS a weak grin as she stands up, her hands behind her back. "It just seemed that this room needed a little straightening up."

KS looks around at the mess the two have just made. "You have a weird way of cleaning." While she's looking around, IG kicks Det. Det starts to complain but then notices that IG has the (live) hamster in her hands and is returning it to it's cage. Both breathe a sigh of relief until they notice the cat is now batting something around on the floor.
Just then, Kande enters the room. She stoops to pet the cat.

"What's this little fella? Did you get a new toy?" she asks as she stoops to pick up it's play toy. "ARGH! It's a detached mouse head!"
