LOL
The Claytons term is a modern Australian slang term born out of a TV commercial for a pseudo alcoholic drink called Claytons. Looks like whisky, tastes like whisky [I guess] but isn't whisky nor is it alcoholic. The ad said "It's the drink I have, when I'm not having a drink" so from that day forth any Aussie that watched TV would use the term Claytons for anything that was a fake of anything else. So I am having a claytons discussion on the XF finale because I'm not having the real discussion that i'd like to be having. We use the term for anything in any context that calls for a term to mean fake, or pseudo. We are the masters of slang. We will turn any term or word or concept into slang without even trying. It just happens. We shorten everything that is long and lengthen anything that is short. IF your name is Bill we'll call you Billy. If your name is Billy then we'll call you Bill. There are shortened and lengthened terms for everything and everyone knows what everyone is talking about. I don't know why we are like this. Perhaps it is that laid back, no worries persona, happening. I don't know. It's just how we are. Ask Detoured where her sunnies are.
