I don't have "official" confirmation, but I have read in several different places that they are both committed to the idea of continuing XF as a movie series. DD has *always* been enthusiastic about continuing to portray Mulder in movies. . .he just didn't want to do XF as as TV show for the rest of his life. I was actually worried that GA would be a more likely holdout, but apparently she's okay with it, too.
I've heard that they're going to begin filming in "late" 2002 and the movie will be released in "late" 2003. Which seems a bit odd to me. XF definitely strikes me more as a "summer box office blockbuster" movie than as a Christmas release! I would hope they'd begin filming this summer and release it next summer! Even a June 2003 release would put the second movie as coming a full five years after the first one, which is a long time, as movie sequels go.
