Doggett falls to his knees, clutching the lump to his chest. "K-k-k-k-k-ks!" he wails loudly, causing all to clutch their ears, even Kande.

CW's head swivels back and forth between the lump and the quivering mass of wool. "If that's KS," she says gesturing to the lump Doggett is slobbering over, "then WHO is that?"

KM stalks over and pokes the yarn-entangled body in what she assumes is it's rear-end with her knitting needle. She listens closely to the squawk the thing gives on contact.

"It's DBTL!" she exclaims, then frowns. "I thought you had a test at 12:30 p.m. today, young lady."

Slowly a face is manages to straggle its way out of the yarn. DBTL looks sheepish.

"KS paid me $100 to deliver her Xmas list to Kande," DBTL says, glancing over at Kande who is deep in thought over her own list.

"Then the melted lump really is KS?" Detoured appears concerned and twitches her cape, wondering if she should waste her super powers by trying to re-form the lump back into the missing morono.

Another muffled ka-boom is heard again from Mt. Krychek. All look over to the mountain.

"Somebody's got to go over and look," KM announces grimly. "As Mayor of this fair town, I think we need to draw straws to see who it's going to be. Kande, bring us some straws!"

"Do you have any idea how much straws cost?" Kande sputters, hunched over her Xmas list.
