Subject: The Winkerer
In reply to: Linda 's message, "Re: Don't Look Now" on 07:39:03 11/09/11 Wed

I'm of a mind to believe that The Tinkerer could actually be the Marty mentioned in A.E.Hotchner's book.

A couple of days ago I read the Marty quotes from AEH's book, and they kinda fitted in with The Tinkerer's demeanour at the funeral.

If you are not familiar with Hotchner's book; Marty pretty much describes the scene and events of Brian's death, but doesn't get physically involved, either as a perpetrator or an objector. Marty just tells of how things seemed to start off as horseplay, turned ugly and then tragic. The length of time Marty tells of Brian being subjected to this attack also seems to fit a lot better than the official witnesses accounts. (Though the surfacing of Marty, to tell his story, seems altogether surreal, the story he relates does seem to fit.)

Marty may have been one of the builders working at Brian's place, but that doesn't rule Marty out as an innocent bystander. And innocent bystander (to the murder), is definitely what these pictures of Marty at the funeral are indicating to me.
