SJO, I am much better off for having been Catholic than I was able to realize..I was taught By the School Sisters of NotreDame and the Jesuits..There is a very old Jesuit Priest who I still consider one of my Best Friends..He was my Headmaster at Brooklyn Prep and gave me my first job at15..I have never been agnostic and sometimes go to confession and Mass and recieve communion. The only thing that bothers me is the concept of hell. Ive been through hell enough., but when I find The End is near, I will say the sincerest act of contrition I possibly can.My father taught me how to pray when I was very little,and when I was 5 I had a little book about Jesus I used to read and cry, thats how badly I felt for him. ( I could read since I was 2)My father sent me to Prep because He didnt want me in a blackboard Jungle,so we have a lot in common. My prayers are always answered, although The holy Trinity doesnt talk..I also belong to the League of St Jude in Chicago and have sent the Claretians a perpetual donation..praying to St. Jude really works,as well as St Cecilia, The patron Saint of Musicians..My Faith has helped me to get through 19 years of recovery from alcohol and drugs,and is the biggest reason I am healing. I wonder what Brian Jones would think of this?lol! Cheers, Bernie
