I feel bad that Davey Jones passed, but not like the way I feel about Brian passing. Brian was only 27,yrs old, Davey was 66yrs old. Davey died a very natural death after a long life. Considering his parents he did live a long life. Brian died a very unnatural death at a far too young age.
I however did consider Davey to be most important to the Monkees because of his being from the U.K. gave the group a slight air of authintensity. Most "Groups" in the 60's were groups from the U.K. I also think that Brian's and Davey's role in their perspective bands were initially their "Chick Appeal". Don't get mad, I know Brian was a fantastic and varied musicain, But the Stones were all so homely they needed all the help they could get. Brian quickly got tired of being the (ice cream cone) and wanted out.
