Amanda was also a friend of mine from Marrakech. She was supposed to visit Brian that day and Tom was due to pick her up, but she was a flake and changed her mind. We were just going to go visit, no party, just friends getting together. I dont know what story was on the radio in NYC since I was still in England, but the first story out in England was he died from an asthma attack. Brian did go to NYC in spring of 69, a short trip. He was doing pretty well in those days, hardly the broken husk people made him out to be. I really do wish I had gone to Cotchford that night, things might have been different.
