Brian sent me to Marrakech, but wasnt there when I was. However Mick, Keith and Anita were. It was early December and I had been in London, going back to Marrakech when I ran into Keith at Heathrow. We were going to take the same flight, but there was a problem with my papers and I was delayed for a day. When I got back, I saw them in a bar just off the Djemaa and Keith asked me what happened, to which Anita got pissy. Keith told her to shut up and continued talking to me. Mick sat there laughing when Anita got nasty with me. She said they should have locked me up. The friend who I was with just stood there speechless than couldnt stop asking me questions after we left!
I met Marianne first at Heathrow when I was working, I gave her a smallpox vaccine, then off and on over the next couple of years. I met Suki a couple times but she was weird.
Brian did vent a lot over The Lads, but it would change according to his mood. They frustrated him a lot because he wanted the band to go one way, they wanted the other. Then he pretty much stopped giving a shit, no other way to put it.
As far as Bob, I never really had any real conversations with him other than the first time I met him which was in line at the grocery in Woodstock. He noticed my son was disabled and invited me to bring him up to play with Jakob, his youngest. Once when I dropped David off, Sara told me Bob wasnt into people that day, and pointed him out sitting on the couch with a brown paper sack over his head! Dont remember Brian mentioning Bob, but I could have forgotten, no idea. Brian did like the Beatles, but we never talked music. We just hung out like any friends do and a lot of it is lost in the mists of memory.
