He really wasn't sure himself what to say or do - she really didn't seem too keen on chit-chatting with him now, but he wasn't willing to just let her go without at least trying. He knew he couldn't expect to pick up where they left off, but he couldn't just see her and pretend like they had never had what they had. There had actually been moments in their relationship where he could easily see himself marrying her, but he had had the travel bug since before they had even met, and she had stuck by him when he went away for a couple months at a time - he just hadn't been able to ask her to wait for him for a whole year. He doubted she would have anyway even if he had asked her to, it just wasn't fair to her. "Uh yeah, just needed to grab some stuff..." He made a fuss about opening up his locker and rummaging through things a bit - it was a lie of course, but better than admitting that he had chased after her and didn't even know what to say or do now. "I know, I know... Can't believe we're back at it already." Small talk was lame but it was better than no talk, that was for sure. "Oh, hey, I heard you're one of us now... Congrats." It sounded like a simple 'way to go', but his tone was genuine and his features softened just a bit - he was proud of her and knew she was going to make an amazing educator..
